On Saturday October 6th, 2012, Pioneer Bluffs will be the site of the yearly Fall Festival. This will also be the occasion of Art in the Barn – an Art Show presenting creative work by local and regional amateur and semi-professional artists. The show will be juried; the jury will select the works to be on display in Pioneer Bluffs’ 1915 barn and appoint three artists to receive an award for excellence.
All artists and aspiring artists are invited to participate. No age limitations.
Theme: prairie architecture (ranch houses, barns, sheds, stores, ruins, bridges, corrals, school houses, churches, chicken coops, silos, train stations, shipping stations, etc.).
Mediums: oil, acrylic, watercolor, pen & ink, pencil, mixed media – no photography.
Number of works to be submitted: maximum 3 (preferably new works). Work on paper must be framed and behind glass.
When to deliver works: Saturday September 29th or Sunday September 30th from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., at The Gallery at Pioneer Bluffs.
The jury (Richard Kooyman, painter; Bill McBride, sculptor; Don Wolfe, photographer; Ton Haak, writer and curator; Ans Zoutenbier, gallery manager) will make their decisions known on Saturday October 6th at 10 a.m. at the opening of the Fall Festival and the Art in the Barn show.
The show will be open to the public from October 5th through October 14th. Participating artists can pick up their work on October 15th between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., or on October 19th, 20th and 21st between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Each participating artist will be represented with at least 1 work; the winning artists will show all submitted works. Each of the three receivers of an award of excellence will be invited to participate in a group show at The Gallery at Pioneer Bluffs in the summer of 2013.

Entry is free. Completed entry forms need to be received before or at the latest at the submission of the works. All work should show on the back: name and address of the artist; phone number and/or email address; title of the work; year of creation; technique; and price, if for sale.
60% of any sales are for the artist; 40% for Pioneer Bluffs and The Gallery at Pioneer Bluffs.
